Ryleigh is currently attending Slippery Rock University. She is a biology major in the Pre- Physician Assistant Program. When asked what she likes about her program she said, “I really love how supportive the faculty are! During finals week that had stress relieving activities, grab and go snacks, and reserved study spaces just for biology majors. I also like how easy it is to access information about the graduate program. They’re always hosting Q&A sessions and seminars so that undergraduates can learn more about the program. “ “Earning scholarships allowed me so much freedom with my first semester of school. I didn’t have to worry about getting a job right away to pay for school. I was able to join clubs and really get involved on campus.”
Aidan is currently enrolled at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport PA. He is in the Building Construction Technology program. Aidan says, “I like the program because it is mostly hands on. We do lots of individual and group projects in lab and have very little time in an actual classroom which is very beneficial for me because I learn by doing hands on work.” “BBCF helped me pay for a decent chunk of my first two semesters and made it more affordable to pay without take out a loan. Any scholarship helps and I am very thankful for everything I received from Bridge Builders.”
Caleb went to Global Power Line Academy, which is a 10-week lineman program. He went into the program nervous and expecting it to be extremely hard, a lot of climbing, and a lot of dedication. His expectations were spot on. He said that the 3 teachers were extremely experienced and patient. They were a lot of fun to learn from and very funny! Which made the hard work a little easier. Within a week of graduating from the program Caleb had an interview at Henkels and McCoy. This company will frequently stop in and watch the students in the class do different tasks. Caleb thinks that he was mostly hired on the spot because of the reputation of the school with a tad bit of it being his interviewing skills. Caleb said that the best part of the experience is that “I quickly for to learn a skill that will always be around and will financially take care of me the rest of my life.” “This whole process was possible because of Bridge Builders and the generous donors! I hope that they are able to continue this for other kids that are not college bound, or don’t always get the best grades, or aren’t the smartest with books but are great with learning from doing something with their hands.”

When Aidan McCracken graduated from Franklin High School, he knew that his next step needed to be something that matched his learning style and his drive to build things with his own hands.
